N.I.O.S.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) was set up by the Ministry of Human Resource department in 1989 as an autonomous organisation. It provides educational opportunities to the students to qualify for a better tomorrow. NIOS offers a flexible and unique education system to the students who want to complete their studies at secondary and senior secondary levels and even to appear in competitive exams like NEET / JEE etc...

Courses:

Secondary Education Course :

This course is equivalent to C.B.S.E. Grade 10. One can join this course irrespective of any formal pre-qualification. Successful completion of a minimum of five subjects is necessary to obtain the certificate. This course may be completed with a minimum period of one year to a maximum period of five years.

Senior Secondary Education Course:

This course is equivalent to C.B.S.E. Grade 12. This course is designed for those who have passed Grade 10 or equivalent examination and would like to continue their education towards Senior Secondary Education which is equivalent to Grade 12. Successful completion of a minimum of five subjects is necessary for obtaining a certificate. 

These courses are recognised by many Boards of School Education and by several Universities for the admission of Higher Education.
