The quality of education depends upon the quality of teachers. Hence, educating the teacher and empowering them with the key skills is a prime requirement in the modern information & communication era.
Therefore, teachers of the 21st century should be well equipped with the latest technology to make the teaching learning experience a fruitful and an enjoyable one. By its very nature, technology is changing at a fast pace and making it accessible to pupils, teachers and other stakeholders is an ongoing challenge.
Hence, a teacher empowered with technological skills is the need of the hour, especially during this COVID 19 crisis. The techno-teacher is one who integrates the content with technology in the classroom and takes the class from the usage of the blackboard to a high tech level i.e. space-board where the ‘cloud’ coordinates the various devices. With the cloud, the world will be our classroom. It will change teaching and learning. Students can learn from anywhere and teachers can teach from anywhere.
The good news is that the new engaging digital tools available can teach not only traditional course material, but also important twenty-first century skills like critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and creativity. Thousands of educators around the world acknowledge that learning is not about delivering anymore, it’s about discovering, about asking questions, working with others and finding answers.
